In Memory of my friend Nigel Bird.

"Those Who Fade Gently"

(To Nigel)

Those who fade gently,
like mist that slips among the trees
in the hour when no one is around,
are the silence too long held
in rooms that
no longer opened.
And now,
they keep their voice
for the flowers,
the rain.
